Tree up to 30 m high; branches sub-cylindric, longitudinally furrowed, glabrescent. Leaves 5(–7)-foliolate; leaflets ovate to elliptic, base and apex acuminate, cuneate or rounded, margins entire, pubescent adaxially, lepidote abaxially. Inflorescencea congested panicle. Flowers with calyx cupular, truncate to 5-denticulate, pubescent, with thick-stellate trichomes; corolla magenta, with yellow throat at anthesis, tubular-infundibuliform, puberulous outside, with scattered simple trichomes inside; stamens inserted; ovary linear; nectar disk annular. Fruit linear-cylindrical, glabrous; seeds with short hyaline-membranaceous wings.
